It is a proud moment for AIIMS Trauma Centre as Suresh Chand Sangi, Trauma Nurse Coordinator, JPN Apex Trauma Centre, AIIMS, New Delhi was awarded the National Florence Nightingale Award 2016 on 12th May.

The award was given by Hon’ble President Pranab Mukherjee on the occasion of International Nurses Day.
Sanghi, joined the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, 2006 and has been posted in Trauma Centre, AIIMS since 2007.

He is also Nurse in charge of the Advanced Trauma Skills and Simulation Facility (ATSSF), JPN Apex Trauma Center, AIIMS which is a training facility well equipped with latest simulators and equipment for training of Trauma healthcare professionals who come from all parts of the nation for training at the Apex Trauma Centre, AIIMS. This training facility has been a role model facility for other centers in India, proving to be a catalyst in National Capacity building in Trauma Care.

Suresh is the National Coordinator for Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) India Programs. He is also the Director of Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) India Program, of Society of Trauma Nurses, USA. He has been Instrumental in improvement of trauma care nationally and internationally by being an active team member for arranging training programs for Doctors, Nurses and paramedics nominated by various government organization as well as various other ministries of Government of India.

Apart, Suresh is also actively involved in various academic activities, research studies and projects.
