Delhi State Cancer Insitute observed World Cancer Day on the theme of ‘I AM & I WILL’ at Dilshad Garden, New Delhi.

Cancer survivors were felicitated by Delhi State Cancer Institute. The motto behind this felicitation program was to motivate the fighting spirit of cancer patients and the common public so that people may think of prevention and early detection of this disease.

On the occasion Dr B L Sherwal Director, DSCI said that we need to do modifications in our lifestyle. We should try to stay happy and healthy with healthy habits.

The chief guest of programme Dr Arun Singhal, President, IMA stressed on social support for Cancer care. Do away with the hesitation in reaching a doctor in case of doubt said Dr Manoj Sharma, Consultant, Clinical Oncology, DSCI.

The program coordinator Dr.Pragya Shukla HOD Clinical Oncology DSCI said that being having diagnosed with cancer does not mean the end of the world. We can live a normal life with proper treatment of cancer.

Experts answered the questions related to cancer awareness at the event.
Lectures were given by Dr Manoj Sharma, Dr Vinita Jaggi and Dr Puneet. They talked about public awareness, sign and symptoms of cancer,  availability of HPV vaccine by which cervix cancer cases can be controlled.
Duringt he program, fruits were distributed to the patients and their attendants by the President, IMA, East Delhi Branch. 
The Felicitation  program came to its end with the vote of thanks by Dr Ravinder Singh, Joint Director, DSCI
