MAMC Agroha echoed with compassion and solidarity as the campus played host to the World Autism Day celebrations. Organized by the Indian Medical Association MSN Haryana(IMA MSN) and the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP), in collaboration with the Pediatrics and Psychiatry departments of MAMC Agroha, the event witnessed a convergence of medical expertise, community support, and heartfelt advocacy.
Distinguished guests graced the occasion, including Dr. Ajay Mahajan, State IMA President of Haryana, Dr. Anisha Mahajan, Head of the Gulabi Pankh Initiative, and Dr. Jaswant Rai Bansal, IMA President of Hisar. The event was attended by esteemed figures such as Director Dr. Alka Chabbra, Director Administration Dr. Ashutosh, Academic Incharge Dr. Lovesh Shukla, Principal of Physiotherapy Dr. Pawan Agarwal, and Principal of Nursing Dr. Promila Pandey, along with heads of various departments.
The day commenced with inspiring addresses from renowned experts in the field, including Dr. Surender Godara, Secretary of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics, Hisar, and a member of IMA, followed by Dr. Harsh Bhawana, a distinguished pediatrician, and Dr. Palak Talwar, an esteemed faculty member from the Psychiatry department.
The event was skillfully hosted by Dhruv Gupta, General Secretary of IMA MSN Haryana and Bhavya Asrani, member of the Mental Health Subcommittee of IMA MSN Haryana.
Throughout the day, attendees engaged in insightful discussions, workshops, and awareness sessions aimed at fostering understanding, acceptance, and support for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their families. Interactive activities and displays showcased the talents and achievements of individuals with ASD, highlighting their unique strengths and contributions to society. Around 500 doctors and students from MBBS, Nursing as well as Physiotherapy attended it.
As the day concluded, participants departed with a renewed commitment to advocate for inclusivity, promote acceptance, and champion the rights of individuals with ASD. The World Autism Day celebrations at MAMC Agroha served as a poignant reminder of the importance of compassion, empathy, and unity in creating a more inclusive and equitable world for all.
