Delhi Vidhan Sabha Speaker Ram Niwas Goel, informally visited Delhi State Cancer Institute, Dilshad Garden Wednesday.
DSCI team has discussed about the need of separate palliative care unit and beds as the curative patients are suffering . To run such kind of unit and other services smoothly, the Institute requires sufficient staff.
DSCI does not have faculties in clinical-hemato-oncology due to which blood cancer patients can not be treated and bone marrow transplantation can not be started.
In this Institute, there is a single gynae onco surgeon in surgical oncology department. Discussing the different issues of the Institute , Director, DSCI and other faculties also insisted on the need of filling the vacant posts of Faculty in Radio-diagnosis and Nuclear Medicine departments.They pointed out the fact that most of the equipments including Radio-therapy machines in DSCI need replacement on urgent basis.
Talking about the staff welfare in particular Dr Pragya Shukla, HOD, Clinical oncology insisted on the need of Promotion Policy and regularisation of staff
who have been working on the same post since last 10-12 years. She said that MoA (Memorandum of Association)clearly states about regularisation of staff under the heading of “Tenure of Appointment”. As per MoA all the RR (Recruitment Rules) of AIIMS shall be adopted by DSCI.
They also talked about the sanctioned posts which are still lying vacant.
Doctors’ team at DSCI removed 22 kg tumor from the abdomen of a patient. Hon’ble Speaker visited that patient in ward.
While talking to the journalists Hon’ble Speaker said that Delhi alone bears the brunt as a huge number of patients from all over India are being treated in Delhi. We have been working on the betterment of Health services in Delhi and it’s there before us.
Dr Kishore Singh, Director, DSCI said that the interrupted services will be started very soon.
During Hon’ble Speaker’s informal visit to DSCI for discussing some staff and patients related issues Dr Kishore Singh, Director, Dr Ravindra Singh, Joint Director, Dr Pragya Shukla, HOD , Clinical oncology, Dr Vinita Jaggi, HOD, Surgical Oncology, Feculties, and other senior officials of DSCI were present.
