Assam will get food park of Patanjali soon in the state as said by government official. Patanjal Ayurveda proposed Rs 1,000 crore herbal and food park in Assam will receive the status of a mega industry. Sarbananda Sonowal,the ssam CM will lay the foundation stone for the Patanjali Herbal and Mega Food Park at Balipara on 6th November .

The park will be spread over 150 acres and manufacture products such as cosmetics, nutrition and kitchen essentials. The facility will have an annual production capacity of 6.57 lakh metric tonnes and generate direct employment for more than 4,000 people, the state government said.

Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the state government’s policy is to give mega industry status to any project involving an investment of more than Rs 100 crore.

Sarma said a new industrial policy is being drafted for the state. “The Centre had discussion with us in this regard.”

The state government said the Centre is also considering a new fiscal package for the Northeastern region.

The current package, North East Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy (NEIIPP), will expire shortly. Registration under the schemes of NEIIPP was stopped on December 1, 2014.
