The cases of the new variant of the coronavirus, Omicron, are increasing rapidly in many countries of the world. Meanwhile, in India today i.e. on Sunday, 5 new cases of omicron variant of corona virus were reported. With this figure, the cases of Omicron variants in India have increased to 38. Today one patient each of Omicron variant has been confirmed in Andhra Pradesh, Chandigarh, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Kerala.
The first case of this new form of virus has been reported in both these places in Andhra Pradesh and Chandigarh. Apart from this, a case of Omicron variant came to light from Nagpur, Maharashtra. At the same time, after one more case was reported in Karnataka today, the number of patients infected with Omicron variant has increased to three in the state. Apart from this, the first case of Omicron variant was reported in Kochi, Kerala.
New case from Nagpur in Maharashtra and Kochi in Kerala
On the other hand, the Omicron form of the virus has been confirmed in a 40-year-old man who returned to Nagpur from a South African country in Maharashtra. With this, 18 cases of this nature have been reported in the state so far. Meanwhile, the first case of Omicron has been reported in Kochi, Kerala. The man had returned to Kochi from Britain on 06 December and was found to be Corona positive on 8 December. Kerala Health Minister Veena George gave this information.
20-year-old boy reached Chandigarh from abroad infected
At the same time, a 20-year-old youth who reached Chandigarh to meet his relatives from abroad has been confirmed to be infected with the Omicron form of corona virus. Dr Suman Singh, Director of Health Services, Chandigarh gave this information. He told, “The youth was living in Italy. He had come here recently to visit his relatives. His genome sequencing report was received late night on December 11 and it was confirmed to be infected with Omicron form.”
