Again, the health services in National Capital Delhi will be going to hamper from tomorrow and the patients will suffer.

After a gap of a week, the resident doctors will gain go on strike from Friday. The Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA), an organization of resident doctors, has written a letter to the Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, announcing a strike by shutting OPD and emergency services in all hospitals of Delhi from December 17. Along with this, FORDA has appealed to the resident doctors in medical colleges of other states besides Delhi to join the strike.

According to FORDA, even after a week of getting the assurance, there has been no response from the central government on their demands. In the case of NEET-PG counselling, the central government has not yet announced the date of counselling so, the resident doctors are forced to go on strike again says Dr.Manish , President of Federation on Resident Doctors Association.

It is noteworthy that earlier, since December 3, doctors had gone on strike, due to which patients who suffered a lot in Delhi for treatment and many patients died due to lack of treatment. In view of the suffering of patients after a week-long strike, FORDA had temporarily suspended the strike for a week from December 9.

The threat of a third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic looming large, the best the authorities could have done was to expedite the counselling and admission process the letter said

Along with this, the government was given a week’s time to start counselling. But due to no further seriousness of government over NEET counselling, now the organization has decided to go on strike again. Dr. Manish National President-FORDA further said that this time the resident doctors will boycott OPD and emergency services together.
