Union Health Minister J.P.Nadda inaugurates Dharamshala at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital (RML) Hospital, on Thursday which offers free facilities to the attendants of the poor patients who travel from outside Delhi.
The complex having three floors with 35 rooms includes single rooms, twin and dormitory rooms where first floor reserved for women. The building has been constructed with a total cost of 6.15 cr. Care taker, Security and Sanitation services are being provided 24×7 and a free telephone service for local calling to communicate with people in the hospital.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Nadda said “ hospital attracts patients from the city and from neighbouring states with unwavering belief that they will get best of services available in the country. “RML has been successful in balancing the quality and quantity while delivering services to the poor people,” Shri Nadda added.
Faggan Singh Kulaste, Hon’ble MoS (Health & Family Welfare) also graced the occasion. He said the complex will give free shelter to families sleeping on pavements around the hospitals in the cold and heat.
The patients who belongs to outside Delhi and have no relatives to stay in Delhi, their relatives are entitled to apply for room in Dharamshala said ADJ Dr.Gadpayle, Medical Superintendent at RML.
The 35 room and 88 bedded capacity Dharamshala’s project, took more than two years to start after the construction of the building was completed in October 2014, but now it is ready for the public Dr.Gadpayle added.
There will be proper monitoring and regularly of services provided to the dharmshala said Minister Nadda. The Health Minister further stated that the facility should ensure proper sanitation and directed the officials to personally monitor this aspect at the facility.
The Ministry is seeking the feedback of people digitally to improve the quality of services at the health centres. “Patient satisfaction is the ultimate test for assessing quality of services provided by a healthcare facility and we are now making a paradigm shift by seeking their views on quality of experience in a public healthcare facility said Nadda.
Dr. Jagdish Prasad, DGHS, Dr B D Athani, Special DGHS, Sanjeeva Kumar, Addl. Secy (Health), Dr R.K Vats, AS & DG (CGHS), and senior officers of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and faculty of Dr RML Hospital marked their presence at the occasion.
