A delegation of resident doctors earlier met senior health department officials but due to lack of clear answers, the impasse continued till Tuesday night before they continued the strike on Wednesday as per information received.
Dr.Jignesh the representative of Bhavnagar RDA told health live that we have submitted a letter to the authorities, the resident doctors demanded bond period calculation as 1:2 (doubling the calculation of days of duty), benefits of the seventh pay commission, appointments in their own alma mater due to loss of study in the first year following the pandemic, and implementing the scheme of senior residents ship along with bond on the lines of other states.
As per the latest statement from FAIMA residents’ doctors in Gujarat are still on Strike and have been no developments or positive response from the Gujarat Government to resolve the situation amicably.
We urge the Government of Gujarat and the Health Minister of Gujarat to look into the matter on priority to prevent the paralysis of the state’s healthcare system, as we have been informed that doctors may have to resort to a complete strike if the matters are not sorted at the earliest.
We have also written to the Health Minister of Gujarat and requested him to take cognizance of the matter and sort out the issues on a priority basis. Coercive actions against our colleagues in any form shall be responded to appropriately, at a national level across states. Our delegation is reaching Gujarat today evening added Dr.Dutta
