The Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare Dr.Harsh Vardhan inaugrates the Blood Donation Camp at All India Institute of Medical Sience, New Delhi on Friday.
At the event the minister states that due to pandemic there is decline in blood donation seen he appealed people should come forward for blood donation. He also said donors must encourage others also for donation to save lives.
“We have successfully ramped up our testing capacity which has crossed the 8.4 lakh milestone today with more than 1450 testing labs spread across the country he informed.
Patron, Director, AIIMS New Delhi Dr.(Prof.) Randeep Guleria in his introduction remarks stressed that AIIMS is initiating such camps so that patients who are in need may easily get blood timely.
A voluntary blood donation camp was organized at Jawahar Lal Nehru Auditorium, AIIMS, New Delhi by the members of AIIMS family on the eve of Independence Day with the theme *”Mera Raktadaan – Desh Ke Naam” . in the memory of supreme sacrifices made by our soldiers in white coat as well as khaaki.
The event started with lamp lightening and floral tributes were paid to the covid martyrs (health careworkers) across the nation by Hon’ble Minister and other dignitaries.
The Family members of COVID martyrs and Kargil war martyrs were felicitated by Minister Dr.Harsh Vardhan and AIIMS family members. Hon’ble Minister visited various areas of blood donation camp, interacted with Blood Donors and appreciated their noble gesture as well as the tremendous efforts put in by event organisers.
Dr.Arti Vij , Head Media and Protocol Division welcomed the Minister and thanked him on behalf of AIIMS family to encouraging the blood donors.
The camp turned fruitful with a record 566 Blood Unit donations received at the end of the day. The programme successfully organised by Aiims Doctors, Nurses, Paramedical & Technical Staff, Officers, Karmacharis etc. filled with patriotism, compassion and dedication.
