Amid the Corona pandemic and the panic of the new variant the Health Department has also not taken any step regarding the doctors’ strike. The Health Department of Delhi says that it is necessary to have a discussion between the hospital management and the resident doctors in this matter.
Doctors in Delhi hospitals will be on strike from Friday due to a delay in NEET PG counselling. On Thursday, resident doctors of different hospitals including Safdarjung , RML,LHMC have announced not to join health services. They said that from Friday, even these OPDs will not be allowed to run in hospitals. Due to this, the patients in the hospitals may have to face a lot of problems.
According to the information, the strike has been confirmed in many hospitals including DDU, Lady Hardinge Medical College, RML Hospital, Loknayak, GTB. While in some hospitals the RDA has not taken a decision till late at night, the Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) says that resident doctors working in all government hospitals are in support of the strike.
Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya had also assured to get counselling done at the earliest, but due to non-fulfilment of demand even after the stipulated time, the doctors have now decided to remain on strike.
However, if we talk about the states other than Delhi, the strike of resident doctors is being seen in different places since last Monday. Resident doctors across the country went on strike on Monday for NEET PG counselling.
On the other hand, the Health Department has also not taken any step regarding the doctors’ strike amid the panic of the Corona epidemic and the new variant. The Health Department of Delhi says that it is necessary to have a discussion between the hospital management and the resident doctors in this matter. In fact, in a matter under consideration in the Supreme Court, the Central Government had informed about the temporary suspension of NEET PG counselling and bringing new guidelines. After this, the demonstration of doctors has started across the country.
Doctors says that their academic session is already running behind by a year due to the corona epidemic. After the delay in the examinations, now they are suffering a lot due to the delay in counselling, which will not be compensated by the government. In such a situation, they have decided to get their demand through protest and strike.
