Delhi Medical Association applauds the National Medical Commission Act 2019 and received assurance from Hon’ble Union Health Minister Dr.Harshvardhan to bring Central health law to act against people who assault doctors.
A delegation of hundred doctors of Delhi Medical Association led by President Dr.Girish Tyagi met Hon’ble Minister Dr.Harshvardhan and praised the new passed NMC Bill 2019 in Delhi on Tuesday.
The New National Medical Commission Act is good for the society It will bring new reforms and end the corruption in medical education. So we are welcoming the step taken by the government and met the Hon’ble Minister said Dr. Girish Tyagi
Dr. Tyagi further said we also raised the most concern issue of medical fraternity about the increase in assaulting of doctors in hospitals, on which Dr.Harshvardhan assured us to bring a bill as a Central Health Act in the next parliamentary session.
The new bill will be having provisions of heavy penalties on assaulters and the severe and injuries will be defined separately adds Dr.Tyagi.
During the meeting, Dr.Harshvardhan assured to bring the new bill for doctor’s safety and security also talked about revising the CGHS rates.
Earlier In the last parliamentary session, the NMC Bill get passed by both the houses of parliament facing the huge protest from medical students and doctors pan India.
