Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday.

 He became the first Chief Minister who infected to COVID 19. CM himself informed about this on Twitter.

“I was showing symptoms of Covid-19. I went through the tests and the results have proven to be positive. I urge all those who came in contact with me in recent days to get themselves tested. All those close to me should go into quarantine.

“I will also continue to do everything possible to help control COVID19 in the state during treatment,” he said.

Chouhan later tweeted that he is going to be admitted to the Chirayu Hospital, a dedicated Covid-19 institute situated in capital Bhopal.

Earlier Cabinet Minister Arvind Bhadoria also  tested positive for the disease. Bhadoria had attended a Cabinet meeting and had travelled with the Chief Minister  to Lucknow to attend the funeral of Governor Lalji Tandon earlier this week.
