On the eve of Autism day a Mobile application was launched at All India Institute of Medical sciences on Thursday.
The idea of mobile app particular for Autism was initiated two years back and now it is on platform.

People can download the app easily from Google play store on any multimedia phone said Dr.Shefalli Gulati, Chief Child Neurology Division, Department of Pediatrics at AIIMS.
Autism or Autism Spectrum Disorder refers to the defects in communication (speaking, gesturing and listening; any mode of communication to message across to other person). It’s a neuro-development disorder.

Acceptance and awareness in the people can work as a helpful tool for Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Apart from app. there has been certificate issued to the parents of autistic children to help them in getting admission in main stream school, for travel reservation and etc.

We are trying to empower the parents of remote areas because in metro cities it is known but in rural areas still had to work on it. And for this the app will help a lot to spread awareness . Last year we have already launched a website which carries information about the Autism as Prof. Shefalli told to Health Live.
The approval of certification for children with autism spectrum disorder has been done by the government of India.

The symposium has also concluded by screening of the movie entitled “The New Girl in Class” which explores the possibility of mainstreaming children with Autism Spectrum Disorders in the school and bilingual poster exhibition giving panoramic view of autism spectrum disorders across life span.

According to study in India 1 in 89 child is suffering from autism, AIIMS received 600 new cases of ASD yearly.
