‘Amma’ the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and renowned leader of AIADMK Jayaraman Jayalalitha passed away in Chennai’s Apollo Hospital late on Monday night.
Apollo hospital doctors had officially announced this sad news at 11.30 pm. Doctors have given abundant care to save her. Though she had given special intense care, doctor’s failed to rescue her life.
She is 68 year old leader and chief minister of Tamil Nadu. As of now, she has opted for 6 times as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu in a record breaking manner. People of Tamil Nadu calls Jayalalithaa as ‘Amma’. Her demise is a great loss for Tamil Nadu and for her followers.
The state has announced mourning for three days. PM Narendra Modi, Congress VP Rahul Gandhi, Bengal CM Mamata Banerji and super star Amitabh Bachchan tweeted their condolences as soon as the announcement was made.
