The Faculty Association of the All India Instutute of Medical Sciences(FAAIIMS) have decided to contribute money to help a ex-colleague fight his legal case, after being removed from the instutution  without proper inquiry in an alleged manhandling case.
The decision was taken in the General Body Meeting of the institution held on Wednesday.
“A decision of contributing money by all the members of the faculty association was taken recently. This is to support one of our collegue Kuldeep Kumar, who was removed without proper inquiry,” Nand Kumar, President of FAAIIMS, told.
According to the association, a candle light march and a silent protest will also be held in the coming week.
“The doctors have decided to protest against the removal of Kuldeep Kumar by wearing black badges in the hospital,” said Nand.
 The AIIMS had on January 10 terminated the services of Kuldeep Kumar of the medicine department for allegedly misbehaving with a patient and manhandling him in September last year.
A committee was set up under department head S.K. Sharma, which earlier January took the decision to terminate the services of the two doctors.
Following the issue the Central Admninistrative Tribunal had also issued a notice against the AIIMS  administration, demanding  a reply byApril 4 on why was the removed doctor not given a chance to put his version over the issue.
