There is a good news for the patients coming for treatment at Delhi’s Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Medical Sciences and Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. Till now, the patients who used to stand in long queues in the hospital for OPD registration are now going to get relief from this. Five major facilities have been started for patients and doctors in RML hospital.
To provide the best medical care to the patients in RML, Apoorva Chandra, Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India and Dr. Ajay Shukla, Director and MS of RML, inaugurated all these facilities.
The new facilities are:
1. OPD Registration Hall (23 counters)
2. New Pharmacy (10 Counters)
3. 03 Waiting Areas for patients & Attendants
4. Reading Room for UG/PG students (seating capacity of 106)
5. Office space at ABVIMS (seating capacity of 42)
Relief from long queues of free medicine
Till now there were only 5 counters for free medicines in the hospital. Due to which there was a huge crowd of patients and one had to wait even to get the medicine. Increasing these numbers to 10 will provide relief to patients and their relatives here too. Also, 3 waiting areas have been created in the RML Hospital premises for the patients and their families who have to wait in the sun and heat. These are air conditioned. In such a situation, now patients will face minimal problems.
Doctors will also get benefit
Keeping in view the needs of UG-PG students, providing separate study rooms and office space for their studies will be very beneficial. Dr. Shukla said that more facilities will be started soon. Efforts are going on to make RML Hospital a better medical care centre.The landmark occasion was attended by a number of dignitaries, including Dr. (Prof.) Arti Maria, Dean, Dr. (Prof.) Manoj Kumar Jha, Addl. MS, Dr. Neera Sharma, Addl. MS, Dr. B.K. Kundu, Addl. MS, Dr. R. K. Modi, Addl. MS, and HoDs of the several Departments. They shared their thoughts on the significance of the new facilities and acknowledged the efforts of the CPWD team, healthcare professionals, and community supporters who made this project possible. Additionally present were faculty, nurses, technicians, and hospital staff.
