Art is a medium through which one can connect with God directly. Dance is a specific form of art helps in rejuvenate, heals and beneficial for physical and mental health.
Renowned classical dancer and Member of Parliament,Padma Vibhushan Dr Sonal Mansigh in this pandemic brings  “Kalayatra” a virtual fest just before Navratra.

The founder of the Centre for Indian Classical Dances (CICD), Dr.Sonal says, “Kala Yatra is truly a journey of cultural explorations inspired by the immense richness and wisdom of Indian performing arts and literature and their myriad forms of expression through dance, music, theatre etc. This event I designed for everyone, every genre of arts, theatre, dance, music, literature.”

At the Centre for Indian Classical Dances (CICD), one finds a confluence of dance, music, yoga, Sanskirt, literature and the way of life in an inspiring ambience Since it’s inception in the 70’s, CICD has shaped the outlook and life of many young students as well as aspiring talented artists Dr.Sonal adds.
Classical dances have different health benefits it build agility, strength and balance, even as the complete concentration it demands helps calm our mind.

About Fest:
On the first day (10th October) of Kala Yatra 2020, dance choreography on Ramayana would be presented by Kalakshetra, Chennai, The College of Dramatics Arts, Thailand and Shri Kamakhya Kalapeeth, New Delhi. While eminent scholars Dr Radhavallabh Tripathi, Dr Choodamani Nandagopal and Dr Prasoon Joshi would present Talks on the Ramayana.
Second day-11th October, Mahabharata will be presented by Dr. Sonal Mansingh, RASA United, New Delhi and Natanakairali, Kerala. Dr Sonal Mansingh, Prof. (Dr) Bharat Gupt and Prof. (Dr) Sahana Singh will deliver their talks on Mahabharata on this day.
