Mumbai| Mumbai will emerge as the global destination for for robotic surgery in the next  two-three years, said surgeons, who term the reasonable cost for the procedure in the city as as the main reason.

They have said that the robotic surgery for the prostate cancer is becoming the major area for which the foreign nationals have been turning up to the Mumbai hospitals.

Among the region from which the flow of patients have been the highest include Africa and and Middle East.

“I get at least one to two inquiries for robotic surgeries every week. These inquiries are usually from Middle East and Africa. In the last two months alone, I had operated on seven patients with prostate cancer from out of India,” said Anup Ramani, consultant Robotic and Uro-Oncological Surgeon,Saifee Hospital and Breach Candy Hospital.
