New Delhi | Union Minister of State for Labour & Employment Sh. Bandaru Dattatreya inaugurated the Induction Training Programme of newly recruited Assistant Provident Fund Commissioners in Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) at “Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya National Academy of Social Security”.  He also launched the new website of the academy at this occasion.

 

Speaking on this occasion, the Minister informed that EPFO is one of the largest Social Security Organisations in the World.  There are 4 crore active subscribers with this organization and touch approx 15 crore people of the total population of the country.  The EPFO provides Social Security to the largest segment of the population.  The EPFO is responsible for the Social Security and well-being of such a large chunk of the Indian population.  Besides, it has been recognized the periodic and systematic training is an indispensable tool to promote the efficiency and responsiveness of any organization’s work force.

 

He further said that EPFO has taken giant strides in delivery of service to its subscribers by adopting latest technology.  He called upon the newly recruited Officers to work hard to deliver the benefits to the poorest of the poor.

Joy, Central Provident Fund Commissioner while welcoming the Minister informed that UPSC has selected 170 Assistant Provident Fund Commissioners (APFCs) for EPFO.  Among these, seventy six officers in two batches are undergoing the Induction Training in this Academy.  Addressing the newly appointed officers, he stressed upon that the officers should work with honesty and work hard to deliver better services to its subscribers.

 

The Central Provident Fund Commissioner also informed that PDUNASS has taken the initiative to conduct training programs for the Social Security officers of SARC and BRICS countries under its modernization plan.

 

The member of Central Board of Trustees, EPFO, Shri G.P. Srivastava also attended this program as a special guest and informed that we should cover more establishments and make a good mechanism between EPFO, Employers and Employees’. Shri M.P. Varghese, Director of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya National Academy of Social Security thanked all the guests & participants.
