The security guards who are well known for their duties nowadays are suffering from the viral infected disease ‘Chikungunya’
Around hundred of guards of All India Institute of Medical Science are ill and the main cause behind this there is lack of sanitation including the waterlogging at the AIIMS premises.
A Senior Resident at AIIMS, told HealthLive “ We have given application to the sainitation officer for the fogging but they neglected by saying that during continuously rain we can not use fogging machines.

Dengue, Chikungunya cases are rising in the institue and many doctors are also suffered by these viral diseases.

In India, chikungunya re-emerged in 2006, after a gap of 32 years and since then it has been occurring either as single infection outbreaks or as co-infections with dengue in different parts of India.
Chikungunya is a viral disease transmitted to humans by infected mosquitoes. It causes fever and severe joint pain. Other symptoms include muscle pain, headache, nausea, fatigue and rash.Joint pain is often debilitating and can vary in duration.
The disease shares some clinical signs with dengue, and can be misdiagnosed in areas where dengue is common.
There is no cure for the disease. Treatment is focused on relieving the symptoms.
