All India Government Nurse’s Federation (AIGNF) makes demand and urged by writing a letter to Information and Broadcast Minister Arun Jaitely to direct the Censor Board to take action on ‘derogatory’ remarks against the nurses in TV shows.

The association is objecting to alleged “derogatory” remarks against nurses on a popular TV comedy show hosted by Kapil Sharma.
In a letter to Information and Broadcasting Minister Arun Jaitley, the AIGNF insisted the footage of May 7 and May 8 episodes of the show, in which the alleged derogatory remarks were made, are removed from the internet and those who made the comments should apologize to the nursing fraternity.

Speaking with Health Live G.K.Khurana, Secretary General, AIGNF said “Nursing is a noble profession comparing any other profession in the world. It has been voted as number one as a ‘Honest Profession’ and no one question against the integrity and attitude of Nursing”

The federation also warned it will be “forced” to agitate to express its anger and disappointment if “noble professionals” like nurses are used as “entertainment tools”.

“Derogatory remarks have been used towards the nurses on the show, leaving the fraternity disappointed, as mentioned in the letter.

Our Hon’ble President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have described nurses as “Angles and Healer of Soul”. They always encourage nursing profession by saying they are pillars of medical profession” Mrs.Khurana added. So, such irresponsible comment is not a matter of tolerance. “Nurses are not an entertainment material and cannot be used as an entertainment tool .

While talking with Healthlive Mrs. Khurana said ‘we will not tolerate making mockery of noble profession and we will fight till the end.
The copies of the letter were also forwarded to Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Censor Board Chairman Pahlaj Nihlani, the TV channel and concerned comedians.
