A patient admitted to CHL hospital, Indore undergoing treatment for the injuries in a road accident gave life to two delhiites.
35 year old man has declared brain stem dead by the doctors at 11.45am on March 9. His family consulted by doctors for organ donation, and they agreed.
A call was received by Dr. M.C.Misra, Director AIIMS from received a call from Sanjay Dubey IAS Commissioner, Indore Division, Indore,MP about deceased Heart in continuity of call a official mail from Dean MGM Medical college.
A team of doctors from cardio-thoracic and vascular sciences centre (CTVS), AIIMS lead by Dr Milind Hote flew to Indore to retrieve the heart the same day.
Next day on 10th March , the heart and liver of patient flown to Delhi. To bring the heart a green corridor was created at morning 10 am.
Certain challenges also came across with the two states authorities, but the 52 year old lady of Delhi resides at Kalkaji an housewife got a new life after the transplant of heart.
The lady was suffered from Dilated Cardiomyopathy, a condition in which the heart’s ability to pump blood is decreased because the heart’s main pumping chamber, the left ventricle, is enlarged and weakened along with severe Left ventricular dysfunction (LVD),” as told by AIIMS Director M C Mishra.
Prof. Balram Airan Chief & Head CT Centre and Cardiac Tranplantation, Dr. Milind Hote Deptt. of CTVS, Prof. Sandeep Seth Deptt. of Cardiology, Dr. Shambhu Nath Dass Deptt. Of Cadiac Anaesthesia are the team members participated in transplantation.
The other organ liver was transplanted to a adult in ILBS (Institute of Liver and Bilary Sciences by Dr.V.Pamecha.
