Around 59 lakh people get the benefit under ‘Nirmaya scheme’ run by Odisha government.
Under this scheme the government will issue medicine pass books to the poor people.
According to the release by CMO, On completion of one year of Nirmaya scheme it evaluated and decision taken by Chief Minister Navin Patnaik today.

Under the scheme poor patients are given free of cost medicines at the government health centres.
The medicine pass books will be issued first at Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre at Cuttack, the release said.
It has directed by CM Patnaik to the officials of health department to get ready with a roadmap within one month to present common minimum diagnostics at district headquarters hospitals, health institutions including medical colleges.
The Common minimum diagnostics will include radiological and pathological diagnostics.
The Nirmaya scheme has 59 lakh beneficiaries and covers almost all community health centres (CHCs) in the state, the release said.
Procurement of medicines for 2016-17 will begin by August 1.
421 types of medicines will be distributed to the patients under the scheme.
