After the period of two years of applying for the logo to differentiate the modern medicine doctors from those practicing other forms of medicine and pathies as well as the PhD doctors, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has obtained a copyright from the Government of India for a ‘Plus sign symbol or logo in red colour with Dr written in its centre’.
Dr K K Aggarwal, president, Indian Medical Association (IMA)said “Now that we have obtained the copyright, we are asking the IMA members and all MBBS doctors to use it. But it is not mandatory.
“We have waited so long for it. All IMA members and MBBS doctors should start using the logo on letter heads, car stickers, visiting cards, conference backdrops etc. It will give us a separate identity and distinction over doctors of other forms of medicine or pathies,” he said.
This logo can be used by only modern medicine doctors said Dr.Agarwal.
