Hlive|New Delhi: Around 200 children falling sick after consuming deworming tablets in different states.
On this the government said on Thursday that there is “no need to worry or panic” as this medicine has some “mild side-effects” for a short time.
In deworming programme children aged between1-19 were given Albendazole tablet .
Children complained of uneasiness after being administered the tablets on the occasion of National De-worming Day. Immediately the affected children were taken to hospitals in Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, and Bihar. . “The medicine sometimes causes mild side-effects, particularly if it taken on empty stomach or if there are many worms inside a child’s gut. Vomiting or nausea are such symptoms can be occur in one or two per cent cases” said Union Health Minister J.P.Nadda at the launch of Malaria Elimination Framework.
