Nurses union all over the country began an indefinite strike on Friday against “discrimination” by the Seventh Central Pay Commission.
Against the strike the Delhi police detained some nurses from Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital ,nurses on protest were pushed and bundled into buses and take to Parliament Street police station.Apart the Delhi government imposed the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA).

Mrs.G.K.Khurana , General Secretary All India Govt. Nurses Federation told Health live “Nurses across India have joined this strike and we condemn the way government treating the nurses federation.
We are struggling for over nine months seeking a hike in the entry level pay scale Khurana added. Khurana said the government said that nurses are taking advantage of the situation when in Delhi there has been a rise in the number of cases of Chikungunya and dengue is untenable
Nurses are struggling since 5th CPC to get correct pay scale which we actually deserve. This is the pathetic conditions we nurses are living in,’’ she explains
Around 70 ,000 nurses from all Central Govt. Hospitals, Delhi state Govt. Hospitals, All Uttar Pradesh state Hospitals, PGI Chandigarh, SGPGI Lucknow, ESIC Hospitals and Railway Hospitals across country are part of the protest.
We are here at police station since morning and some of nurses are fainted due to exertion and stress as told by Mrs.Khurana.
